Check-In Times
Check-in times for all Pacific Airways flights, both scheduled and charter, is 30 minutes prior to departure. If you are booked on a scheduled flight and you fail to check-in or contact us by 10 minutes prior to departure your seat may be given up to accommodate standby passengers who have checked-in for the flight. If you are bumped from a flight for failure to check-in on-time you may request transportation on the next available Pacific Airways flight or a refund pursuant to our passenger policies. These check-in times are required to allow us adequate time to prepare the flight for an on-time departure. If you fail to check-in or contact us 30 minutes prior to a charter departure time your departure may be delayed to the next available time on our schedule.

Ketchikan Airport Ferry
The Ketchikan International Airport is on Gravina Island, an island seperate from the actual town of Ketchikan. There is a ferry that operates between the airport and Ketchikan. The ferry ride takes approximately 5 minutes and operates twice per hour. Departures from the Ketchikan side are 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. Departures from the airport side are at the top of the hour and 30 minutes past the hour. Please contact the Ketchikan International Airport for more information on schedules and fares. Please note that if you are already on the Ketchikan side you do not need to go to the airport to check-in for a Pacific Airways flight. You can check-in at our waterfront offices.

Packing Guide
We strongly encourage our passengers to pack only what they need for their trip on Pacific Airways. Please look your baggage over and try to verify that you aren't packing more than you need. Generally, space is limited on our flights and we do all we can to make sure all your baggage is transported efficiently and on-time. However, baggage in excess of the allowable limit may be delayed. Keep in mind that we have safe and secure storage for baggage you do not need to transport, including hard shell gun cases and coolers. Most lodges in Alaska, if you are a guest, will provide everything you need for your fishing trip, all you need to bring is clothing and personal items. Most larger communities in Alaska have grocery stores, and although prices may be higher than what you are used to paying, after factoring the cost of excess baggage it may be more economical to purchase groceries at your destination. Please consult our baggage information and baggage policies for more information.

Weather
Weather conditions in Southeast Alaska can be very unpredictable. We have the most experienced operations crew in southern Southeast Alaska, with decades of experience dealing with our unique conditions. Our main concern is safety, our aircraft will not depart unless weather conditions indicate that a safe flight can be completed. In the event that your flight is delayed or cancelled due to weather our staff will do everything it can to assist you in rescheduling or finding another method of transportation. Due to weather, tidal conditions, and other factors beyond our control Pacific Airways cannot guarantee your departure and arrival times.
